25 GROWTH HACKING TOOLS THAT THE PRO’S USE

Every day there is new technology, new platforms, new tools being created to make a Growth Hacker’s, Blogger or Business Owners life a little easier. Many of these tools are focusing their efforts on automating the time-consuming Marketing processes while using Artificial Intelligence or Data for greater accuracy. Let’s look at some of the Growth Hacking tools that the pro’s use-

Please note this list is no specific order and the list will be updated regularly based on new technology and findings. I also would have loved to write longer descriptions on each of these tools, this would be more of a great starting point to learn of these pro tools.

Zapier

Until recently, you would need to individually use Marketing tools or hire Freelancers to take over some of the work load. Now we have Zapier, a tool that can automate your work by integrating into an ever-increasing number of apps (over 1000). Creating ‘Zaps’ to those tedious tasks that need doing will make your life a whole lot easier.

Drip

The first Ecommerce CRM that is designed for building personal relationships at scale. Drip isn’t your standard mailing platform, it is a marketing and sales platform designed for ecommerce. It offers personalisation, analytics and plenty of automation. It is very easy to use as well.

MailChimp

A very popular mailing platforms available and for a great reason. Simple to use, simple integration with your technology It Offer’s A/B testing as well (a growth hacker’s favourite activity). Personally, I am a big fan of their marketing and content as well, worth checking out for some Marketing inspiration.

Customer.IO

An email platform focused on Data. This platform will automate the messages sent out through the lifecycle. It’s very popular with SaaS businesses and allows you to create responses based on certain behaviours and scenarios.

Hello Bar

Hello Bar will assist in lead collection and overall driving conversions. It is a simple bar that is displayed usually at the top of the page in a much less intrusive way compared to the standard pop up bar.

HubSpot-

One of the most popular Marketing platforms in the world. Hubspot is an inbound marketing, sales and service software. Very easy to use, it is great for tracking activities and organizing follow ups. It is Free and recommended for companies with 10-10,000 employees.

Kiss Metrics

Kissmetrics is a customer engagement automation platform designed to help you understand the behaviours of your customer base while assisting in driving higher levels of engagement. It enables users to segment customers based on their behaviour and website activity. If used correctly, it can assist in improving marketing strategies and business decisions.

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is an advanced marketing automation tool used mainly for ecommerce, it has a bunch of useful tools which include, list segmentation based on behaviour or location, integrates with Facebook custom audiences, when setting different conditions and actions it builds flows or rules for subscriber situations. These are just to name a few.

This integrates into shopify perfectly as well.

Crazy Egg

One of the Growth Hackers favourite tools.  Crazy Egg displays heat maps of a websites users’ experiences, you can see which elements of the site is working the way it was designed and which areas need improvement. You can track users in real time as well as doing A/B testing on the pages.

Findthatlead

If lead generation is your focus, this is the tool you need. You can find your best customers email and validate that email. You can use this to expand your network, generate sales leads, and contact the decision makers related to your project.

This is a personal favourite.

Optimizely

A great simplified way to do A/B testing for your website. It allows you to easily set up various versions of your website and put in place A/B testing, you can also create personalised user journeys on your website.  It’s easy to use (no coding required) and very easy to understand.

Sumo

Sumo is a tool which is focused on growing your traffic and follower base online. They use proven strategies to do this, such as, share buttons, pop ups, smart bars, heat maps and much more. Sumo is visually appealing and customizable on your site, very easy to use dashboards and integrates into Google analytics.

Typeform

People deserve a better experience. Typeform provides a user-friendly experience to filling out forms. It is a great data collection tool that make user data collection less painful. You can create surveys, quizzes, forms, and much more.

Unbounce

Create customizable, responsive and impressive landing pages in minimal time. Unbounce also offer A/B testing. A great conversion focused tool.

BuzzSumo

A favourite for content creators. Use Buzz Sumo for research, competition analysis, back linking and outreach research. This tool is invaluable if content is a huge part of your marketing strategy.

Google Analytics

If anything on this list is essential, this is it. A free tool that will allow you to track visitors on your website and provide invaluable data. Monitor popular pages, track traffic sources, time on pages, and ensure bounce rate is not too high.

Google Search Console

Monitor your Google search appearance and check your index and ranking status, find out what your site is ranking for and moving up and down the rankings for. This can also be used as a great way to decide on new content topics for your site. Google algorithms are updated daily, so it’s also a great way to keep track of your site.

Qualaroo

A great tool for data collection. This is an advanced tool and allows you to collect feedback in many ways (including real time) from website visitors and customers.

Canva

One of the best tools to create your own visual content. Create Social media posts, flyers, infographics, banners, etc. Canva offer thousands of templates and stock images to assist you along the way. The Canva platform is always growing and always staying ahead of the competitors.

Elementor

A great WordPress tool to assist in designing your WordPress site and content. You can create your own pages with this always improving amount of drag and drop tools. The most impressive part of Elementor, is that can co-exist in any WordPress theme. One of my favourites! Worth checking out if you have a WordPress site.

Ahrefs

A feature rich tool for SEO professionals. This is one of the top SEO tools in the world. It’s great for keyword research, link building, content marketing and most SEO strategies. The data collected by their web crawlers is extensive and accurate.

Ghostery

A great chrome extension which allows you to block trackers and ads while visiting sites. It not only blocks a sites tracker, it also shows you the tracking technology they are using. This is a great way to check out your competitors and learn of new technology while visiting sites that you are impressed with.

Leadworx

Install Leadworx script into your site and it will collect a list of visitors to your site. You can use these visitor leads for outreach and get a strong indication of customer intent.

Unsplash

Free stock images. This will save a lot of time and cut costs on purchasing licensed images. Unsplash has High resolution images that will make your Marketing material look amazing!

Product Hunt

Growth Marketing is technology driven. To stay up to date, Product Hunt is a great resource to find many of the latest new apps, platforms, services and technology. You can also add the Product Hunt Chrome extension that will provide you with daily updates on all the latest products.

Userlane

A tool that I only have recently discovered, this can make life easier for every Growth Hacker, Marketer and Product Manager out there.

Userlane is a customer on-boarding and retention solution and is an awesome platform that enables the user to monitor and assess features and product adoptions. Not only can you guide your customers through using a product or platform, it has great UI and UX that makes it all very pain free to do. Optimizely recently included it in their list of Growth Hacking tools and I can see why.

Mention

Mention is a great tool for monitoring your products, brand, campaigns, and competitors online. This platform works at enterprise or agency level.

Mention allows real time monitoring, competitive anaylsis, find and monitor influencers, and modifiable customer insights.Mention monitors an impressive number of sources from around the web (over 1 billion and counting). At a growth marketing level, it is an easy way to monitor your brand and keep up on your competition and industry. This will easily lower your manual boolean searches or various apps that are tracking your brand and competitors.

Rank Math-

This is a great new SEO Plugin that is similar to Yoast, all the features are currently Free and they are constantly improving the product! We have applied it to clients WordPress sites and noticed SEO improvements along with users reporting ease and functionality. Set up is easy, User interface is nice, it creates Site maps, Mark ups, Rich Snippets and more. I am not sure how long this will remain for Free, however, this plugin could do huge things.  

Unfortunately, we haven’t even scratched the surface for the uses of these 25 Growth Hacking tools.Although, It is a great starting resource.

My advice is get onto them, try them out and explore their marketing uses for your business. Many are free to use and others offer free trials.
